Closing a chapter with TMSA

Two weeks ago, we wrapped up the TMSA Case Competition, and with it, I wrapped up my final event as part of this incredible association.
What started as a solo idea during my time as COO last year — building a case competition from the ground up — has now grown into a signature TMSA event. This year, as Co-President, I had the chance to see it thrive again, but this time with a full team behind it, a packed room of brilliant participants, and a panel of judges that included my mentor, my manager, and a city councilor. Truly full circle.
The case topic? Aerial cable cars as an alternative public transit option along Oshawa’s Simcoe Street corridor — bold, innovative, and rooted in real local relevance.
We had 8 fantastic teams take the challenge head-on, offering fresh, actionable insights. The energy in the room, the ambition, the collaboration — it reminded me why I started this in the first place.
This year’s success wouldn’t have been possible without my Co-President and current COO, whose dedication brought the vision to life all over again. A huge shoutout also to our CFO and CMO — every detail was smoother because of you.
Reflecting on my journey with TMSA — from being thrown into the deep end as COO, to co-leading as President — I’ve grown immensely. I’ve had the privilege to build, fail, learn, and lead alongside some of the most passionate, driven people I know.
TMSA gave me the space to take ownership, to experiment, to lead with both structure and soul — and I’ll always be grateful for that.
Here’s to bold ideas, great teams, and meaningful endings. 🤍
